This game started the entire Assassin's Creed series. I think you already heard a lot about it, it's one of the most played game developed by Ubisoft.
The game was developed in 2007 and that's why the graphics are not the same as Syndicate, but the story, soundtrack and the environment makes it very funny and
easy to play. When I first started about 5 years ago, I didn't know anything about it. I was a casual gamer and when I saw that I need to climb, jump, run etc it was
so intense for me. I don't watch youtube tutorials so the first climbing was one of the hardest things I did in video games :)
Anyway, Assassins Creed I focuses on Altair, an assassin who disappointed his master and tries to gain his trust again. In order to do this, he has to kill some men from the third crusade.
As every Assassins Creed game, the action starts in the future with the protagonist who finds out that he has "special" memories of his ancestors, and they try to learn more about it in order to
learn from their fails, to know the history and a lot more.
The game is a little repetitive, but I don't complain because it was developed a long time ago and the developers didn't know exactly what to expect. It was very good for people 10 years ago, but now we played
games like Unity or Syndicate and we expect more, that's why some pople may not like Assassins Creed I.
Ubisoft said that they won't make another Assassin's Creed game for a while, maybe 1-2 years ( 1 year already passed ). This was a good idea because less is better.

Before playing Assassins Creed 1 I actually played all of the Ezio Assassins Creed games and also Assassins Creed III and IV. I only got to play Assassins Creed 1 this year and surprisingly i didn't enjoy as much as the other games, but i'm sure it's because i played all of the games that came after it.
It's so cool to see how much the gameplay changed, the animations are so much better now then before.
Overall it's a pretty fun game, I'm sure i would of enjoyed it way more if i hadn't played the Assassins Creed games that came after it.

You're right. If someone wants to start Assassins Creed series, go with 1 first.
I forgot to complain about a thing I absolutely hated on the first game : the poors who asked for money the entire game and the random guys who punched me in face without any reason. Those guys made my missions very hard, even failed some of them. I just wanted to kill them all :D
